The Center of the Universe

I have arrived Yosemite Valley, and the weather is starting to heat up. In fact today the weather is suppose to hit 100, so it looks like I am a little late to enjoy the good free climbing with nice weather. I spent the last few days climbing some moderate routes in the Valley and up in Toulumne with some climbers I met in Camp 4. Not many climbers around because of the heat, and the tourons are begining to take over. I am thinking about either soloing a big wall route or heading up to the Sierras where the weather will be a bit cooler.

Vantastic Voyage

The preparations are done and I am about to hit the road, I am getting a much later start than I planned. Its is amazing how much time it takes to get everything ready for taking an extended vacation. The first stop will be Yosemite and the Sierras. I will probably start with the "Valley" and if it becomes too hot I will than head up to the high country. I will be cruising in a new set of wheels, a white '95 Dodge Van Sportsmobile, so if you see a White Sportmobile with Texas plates stop by and say hello.

The Begining of the End

I finished the last of my coaching duties for the year at the Texas State Track Meet. It was a great way to end the season with several athletes qualifying and 1 athlete earning a place on the podium. This ends my teaching/coaching carreer at Llano High School. I will leave with a lot of good memories of working with some great student athletes meanwhile I am excited about the climbing trip that I will soon begin.
